The arched door is fitted with a robust and complicated locking mechanism and is accompanied by two original iron keys, reflecting the early development of sophisticated security engineering in Italy during the first half of the 19th century. The façade is subtly embellished with raised decorative elements, including a central rosette and concentric iron bosses, lending restrained ornament to an otherwise utilitarian form.
