Description Originally devised by Oliver Edwards and constructed by Jan Siman of the Czech Republic comes SOFT DUB CADDIS LEGS. These are a blend of long fibres of dyed deer hair, twisted in a thread loop. These make tying with deer hair so easy! Great for both dry and wet caddis patterns, pupas, shrimps, muddlers heads, etc, etc. Wet Caddis Pattern– catch in at the hook bend of a long shank hook (best to use GSP thread as you need to put pressure on the thread to make sure the dubbing rope does not slip) and wrap up the shank in tight touching turns, sweeping the fibres back as you go. Trim the fibres close to the shank for a superb looking cased caddis body! Dry Caddis pattern– wrap the body of your pattern as above but stop a few mm before the hook – tie in a wing (tape, feather, etc) then wrap a couple of more turns to the eye – the pattern will float like a cork. Try a few turns at the thorax of a Czech nymph and trim some of the fibres for a very leggy appearance; wrap a couple of turns at the head of a fly and trim for a quick muddler. There are five strands per pack – each is approx. 6″ (15cm) in length. MIXED PACKS contain nine strands.
