Description From Fulling Mill of Surrey, England comes their STRIPPED PEACOCK EYE QUILLS. These are a great find! These quills come from Peacock eyes and are hand stripped, which helps eliminate the problems of cracking if bleached or chemically stripped. The quills are very supple and require no pretreatment before use. They make excellent bodies for buzzers, nymphs and dry flies. The dark edge of the quill show up very well when wrapped onto a hook shank – giving you a really attractive banded appearance. Try the yellow or ginger against a black thread underbody – in fact, it’s fun to experiment with different underbody colours; claret underbody and ginger quill looks very good! Although these stripped quills are relatively strong, I would suggest coating the underbody thread with varnish before wrapping the quill – a very thin coat of varnish over the wrapped quill will also give a lot more strength to the finished fly. 24 quills in each pack – each is approx. 3″ in length.
