Description I am delighted to re-introduce a product that has not been available for over 7 years – SILICONISED POLYPROPYLENE YARN. This is the yarn that was originally exclusively offered by Niche Products of Essex, England and found great favour with fly tyers Worldwide. Sadly, Peter Smith of Niche retired 7 years ago and the product disappeared from the market – until now! I have sent samples out to colleagues who have examined the material and can confirm it is the geniune article. This is a multi strand polypropylene yarn that has been treated with silicon – every single strand has been coated, resulting in a material that has a specific gravity of below 1 – meaning that it floats on water! This is a great product (and the original) for Klinkhamer and parachute dun wings – also excellent for spinner wings and comparadum wings, in place of fine deer hair. It is a single ply material and when twisted and wrapped onto a hook shank, looks amazing for dry fly bodies! The material, as when offered by Niche, is available in just four colours – Black, Chocolate Brown, Medium Dun and White. The material is NOT wrapped on a card – so no creases and wasted material!
