Description This is a great way to either start experiencing the joy of tying with top quality genetic hackles, or to top up on colours that you are running low on. First, these are genuine Whiting cock saddle hackles. The saddle hackles have long supple quills and superb barb density, each of the longest feathers from the centre of the saddle average 10 inches in length, enabling you to tie probably 9 or 10 patterns from just one hackle; unlike capes /necks, there is very little wastage of hackle near to the skin. I personally use Bronze Grade saddles for the vast majority of my dry patterns and having bought Metz and Keough saddles in the past, always come back to Whiting saddles, they are just a joy to use. Each pack contains at least 15 hackles, enough to tie on average MORE than 100 patterns, hence the name “100 plus”. The hackle sizes will suit traditional (collared) dry and parachute hackled patterns for hook sizes 14, 16 and 18. (UK TYING SIZES!) These hackles will also tie SMALL klinkhamer patterns of sizes 18 and 20. Please note that these hackles are not supplied in Whiting packaging – each pack is made up from genuine Whiting saddles.
