Description Sourced from Veniard of London, England comes ENGLISH PARTRIDGE NECK HACKLES. The English Partridge needs very little introduction – Partridge hackles has long since been a favourite with fly-tyers, and their use is widely regarded as being the perfect representation for ‘legs’ on many nymphs and North Country Spider patterns. The Grey neck feathers (between the shoulders) of the bird have a predominantly grey/white fleck, whereas the Brown back feathers are similar but have an overall sepia brown hue. As well as essential for traditional North Country Spider patterns, a turn of hackle at the thorax of a pattern adds legs – and a kick on a Jingler pattern.
