Description Sourced by Veniard of London, England comes these MAGPIE WHOLE TAILS. The feathers from a Magpie’s tail provide iridescent, greenish-blue/ black feathers and can be used for wings & winging, bodies, thorax covers etc. The herl can also be wrapped at the head of a pattern, especially good on small North Country Spider patterns. It can also been used as Heron/spey hackle sub. by stripping the quill sheath with the feather fibres still attached thus creating a ‘hackle’. This is then tied in and palmered to create an iridescent hackle. One whole tail per pack.
