Description From the Swiss CDC Company of Riazzino, Switzerland comes CDC PUFFS. “Puffs” are CDC feathers which are not fully developed, sometimes called “nipple plumes” as they are found on the nipple of the preen gland on the duck. They are plucked and washed, all superfluous oils are removed and then they are dyed. CDC Puffs are superb for fly bodies, extended bodies, for mayfly wings and for classic parachutes. Either tie them in with the butt of the feather against the hook shank for a normal looking para post or try them inverted – tied in by the tips so to form a “globe” – a puff ball of fibres that will trap air. Try them as a “puff ball body” on sedge patterns by tying them in by the tips near the eye of the hook, with the ball of the feather extending back around the hook shank. Each pack contains 0.5g of puffs – literally dozens of plumes.
